Punk movement in Fashion

In the 1980's, punk rock fashion took a brutalist turn. The hardcore scene was on the rise, and with it came a flood of chains, leather, and studs. Body piercings and tattoos came into vogue androgyny flourished.
One of the most iconic designers, Vivienne Westwood, viewed punk style not as fashion, but as deliberate tool to subvert the political and social system. That's why all of her designs are very inspired by punk movement and even made her a part/start of Punks in Fashion.
"Punk feels very heroic," Vivienne Westwood said in 2017. "When I say heroic, I mean to express individuality, That's what it is, to be known in a crowd and forcefully expressing individuality".
Vivienne Westwood presented punk movement in her Autumn/Winter 2011 Runway - Gold Womenswear. On the models, we could see dresses which had 3/4 sleeves with a lot of gold riffle and pop of colour. One of the most beautiful, in my eyes, outfit described punk movement exactly they way it should: model Hildie Gifstad showed up on a Runway with a dress which had a big piece of gold riffle material with gloves on shoulders. Not only the outfit screamed "Punk!", but the makeup and hair had audience in awe. White paint on the face and punk-style black eye-makeup with black lipstick stood out so much that the unusual for a Runway hairstyle was almost hard to see.
From my point of view, punk movement in fashion not only helps expressing yourself and who you actually are, but also it brought a lot of new ways on how to style/wear something that at first seems out of your comfort zone.
