AI tools

For a better understanding of AI tools in sound production, I decided to do research on them.

This will not only help me understand it better but also help me present AI tools to people who don't know about them more clearly.

First where I looked was YouTube:

In this video, creator talks about 5 AI tools which some (in my opinion) take away creativity but some may help.

Automatic Master

Masters track automatically for any platform.

This helps people upload their music/sounds easier with no extra hustle.

Voice AI

Plugin from Sonar Works, called ’soundID voice AI’.

Transforms any vocal track into realistic singing voices.

Stem Splitter

With this you can drag any song into FL studio and it will extract all the stems from it.

DE clipper

Uses AI to fix a clipping sound as good as possible.

Chord Generator

Used to generate cords.

Thoughts on AI tools from public:

I decided to look on reddit for what people actually think about the use of AI tools in sound production.

Here people shared their views and opinions on AI tools in sound production. I could say that they are very mixed, some say that they don't mind it as long as the final product is not classified as being 'smart' or 'intelligent'. On the other hand, some say that they even use it themselves to generate something.

How many artists use AI in their work?

To get a better understanding of how many artists actually use AI in their work, I decided to do a research on that because it will not only bring me a better idea but also, give me helpful statistics.

At first, I searched my question up on google 'How many artists use AI in their work?'

These statistics are for 2025, so I did a better research and mentioned the year 2026.

In 2026 there are 78% of artists who use AI somewhere in their workflow, from technical production tasks to creative and promotion support.

Luckily the music industry trying to avoid the use of AI, but the percentage of people which use AI still not getting as low as it should be.

How AI is destroying music industry?

I decided to do some research on how exactly AI is destroying music industry.

In this article, they talk about 'AI Music Generators and their Role in Musical Composition', 'AI in Music Promotion and Marketing', 'Advantages and Limitations of AI in Music Production', 'Emerging AI Music Projects and their Potential Implications', 'TL:DR'.

I decided to focus on 'AI Music Generators and their Role in Musical Composition', 'Advantages and Limitations of AI in Music Production', and 'Emerging AI Music Projects and their Potential Implications'.

AI Music Generators and their Role in Musical Composition

In this section they talk about AI music generators and what it is. The clear definition of it is - using machine algorithm to analyse music which is already existing and create "new" composition with bits from each music/song.

This means that artists can just create music using this AI generator, which decreases creativity and makes song meaningless.

They also argued that AI can get your creativity juices flowing but mentioned that only if you use it in the right way.

Advantages and Limitations of AI in Music Production

Advantages - AI is used in mixing and mastering - AI plugins can analyse tracks and determine which elements need to be adjusted (volume, EQ settings). This then saves producers time and makes work more efficient.

Limitations - AI technology is not yet able to capture the nuances of human creativity and emotion. Meaning the outcome will have no emotions behind it and be meaningless.

Emerging AI Music Projects and their Potential Implications

In the article they talk about how AI technology can be used to crate new music genres. Also could be used to analyse and remix existing tracks in creative ways.

AI technology is likely to become increasingly important in the music industry.

Mentions that even when we use AI in creating music, we should still respect human creativity and not fully rely on AI.

AI should not replace or displace traditional forms of music creation.

AI creates new opportunities for musicians - still must be aware of the potential risks it brings.

Lauv and DJ Swivel Young

In this article, writer talks about how Lauv used AI to translate his song into Korean.

Lauv asked DJ Swivel Young to translate his voice into Korean for song using his program Hooky - popular AI voice cloning/licensing platform-.

This definitely does bring impact into sound production, as AI was being used in creation of the song in Korean. But it doesn't harm sound production industry as AI was not being used to create the actual song, only translate Lauv's voice into Korean.

Lil Uzi Vert

Fans Are Using Artificial Intelligence to Turn Rap Snippets Into Full Songs

Fans are using AI to turn low-quality snippets from rappers into full songs. Is this exciting or terrifying? According to the young fans who are doing it: both.

I found the website which fans are most likely are using to create those AI finished snippets.

Yung Lean

Making mistakes is the only way to make people believe it’s real 😉 and by real I mean human (ie. Free of AI)

Storm by Gener8tion & and Yung Lean popped up on my Substack feed billed as the best promo video this year. And apart from the Iranian LEGO Diss tracks I can’t disagree. Never heard of Gener8tion but apparently it’s the multimedia music project by French producer and visual artist Surkin, known for blending futuristic electronic soundscapes with striking, high-concept visuals.

The track ain’t bad but watch this - amazing
